After three weeks of casting, learning routines, and rehearsing scenes, we are finally ready to re-launch Romeo + Juliet, starring Company B (Trixi Violet playing Tybalt, Gwen Cosgrove playing Paris, Syn Wytchwood playing Mercutio and Juliet, and me playing Romeo and Juliet).
It’s been in some ways, much easier than I imagined to take an existing production and teach it to three absolute beginner performers, but in other ways, it’s been a real challenge. We’ve made a few tweaks to some of the routines to make them a little more interesting and organised, but the rest of the performance will be similar to what you’ve seen in the past.
If you’ve seen and liked the show, please come give us your opinion on our current players! And remember, an evening at a romantic play like this makes for a very original date night, so make a plan of it and invite someone along! And hell, you sure can’t beat the price (did I mention it’s FREE to attend?)
Seating remains limited to 30 avatars, so please arrive early and come lightly scripted, avoiding any lag-producing attachments or fancy gadgets and doodads.
I’m confident you’ll enjoy our next performance of Romeo + Juliet, which will kick off the Summer Season, premiering this Saturday at 1pm SLT, at the Basilique Playhouse!
