The Holstee Manifesto

The Holstee Manifesto

I randomly came across this earlier today and was shocked that my eyes where not amongst the 50,000,000 that had already seen it! This wonderful 18 x 24″ poster is available for sale at a value-priced $25 – here’s the link if you want to order a copy.

I’m curious. Do you agree with everything in the poster? Any dissenting opinions?

  1. I agree with all but “life is short” because I read this a lot and it often comes from those that over-indulge for example or do nothing meaningful with their life… and thus actually cause their life to be short.

    1. Interesting! I suppose what might be meant by “life is short” is the idea that, relative to how long we’re not around, we’re around a very short time. But, I agree with you, you can most certainly do whatever is in your power to extend your days – whether that’s by avoiding things that reduce your lifespan, or embracing things are meant to prolong it.

I have to say, the one thing I didn’t agree with was the statement “life is simple.” Really? I’m not so sure about that. Maybe I’m thinking simple = easy. I think making things simple can be one the hardest things you can ever be challenged to do.

      1. A lot of these things are all relative… like life is short compared to the age of the universe, but long compared to the life-span of a moth. And the same with life being simple (or not)… thus it’s as long/short simple/complex as you want it to be 🙂
